2001 NICSA/William T. Black Scholarship Awards

NICSA Chairman Alan D. Greene announced the names of the recipients of the 2001 NICSA/ William T. Blackwell Scholarships at the May General Membership Meeting in Boston. Eleven students were selected by the Citizens’ Scholarship Foundation of America from an outstanding field of applicants and each will be awarded a scholarship for post secondary education.

The 2001 recipients of the NICSA/William T. Blackwell Scholarship award are:

Michael Crosby of Mashpee, MA, plans to attend the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, PA, majoring in Finance. His NICSA member parent is Charles Crosby of State Street.

Evan Dooher of South Boston, MA, plans to attend Boston College in Chestnut Hill, MA, majoring in Accounting. His NICSA member parent is Francis Dooher of State Street.

Kyle Gallary of Wellesley, MA, plans to attend Georgetown University in Washington, D.C., majoring in Liberal Arts. Her NICSA member parent is Peter H. Gallary of Putnam Investments.

Laura Huffman of Independence, Missouri, plans to attend the University of Missouri in Columbia, MO, and major in Early Childhood Education. Her NICSA member parent is Ken Huffman of DST Systems.

Maria Lonshteyn of Marblehead, MA plans to attend Harvard University in Cambridge, MA, majoring in Biochemistry. Her NICSA member parent is Alexander Lonshteyn of Fidelity Investments.

Michael Look of Seattle, WA, plans to attend Stanford University in Stanford, CA, majoring in Biology and Law. His NICSA member parent is Gina Look of Safeco.

Megan Markey of Overland Park, KS, plans to attend the University of Notre Dame in South Bend, IN, majoring in Engineering. Her NICSA member parent is Patty Markey of American Century Investments.

Theresa Olshefski of Gladstone, MO, plans to attend Washington University in St. Louis, MO, majoring in Biomedical Engineering. Her NICSA member parent is Jim Olshefski of DST Systems.

Chigozie Opara of Medford, MA, plans to attend Northeastern University in Boston, MA, and major in Pharmaceuticals. Her NICSA member parent is Ahotu Opara of State Street.

Ankit Shah of Markham, Ontario, plans to attend Wilfred Laurier University in Waterloo, ONT. His NICSA member parent is Jay Shah of Mackenzie Financial.

Tim Yip of Chelmsford, MA, plans to attend Cornell University in Ithaca, NY, majoring in Aerospace/Mechanical Engineering. His NICSA member parent is Fanny Chan of MFS.

Established by the Board of Directors in May of 1995 as a tribute to Bill Blackwell's commitment to NICSA and to the mutual fund industry, the NICSA/William T. Blackwell Scholarship Fund is endowed through donations by individuals and NICSA member companies.
