Diversity Project North America

Overview

The Diversity Project North America is a cross-company, industry initiative that seeks to drive measurable change for member firms, and for the global asset management industry as a whole. The Project spans the entire range of the industry: asset managers, fund complexes, asset servicers, broker dealers, asset owners and professional service firms that support the industry.

We aim to accelerate diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) across all dimensions through collaborative leadership from executive business leaders pooling resources from industry participants around challenges we all face. We strive to deepen the understanding and perception of what the asset management industry entails and the varied roles within it, to encourage a broader range of new candidates. 

Our Mission

The Diversity Project North America promotes a diverse and inclusive asset management industry with the right talent to deliver the best possible results for our clients, reflect the society we serve, and ensure long-term business sustainability. 

Our Plan

The Diversity Project North America is overseen by a CEO Advisory Council which comprises senior executives from each of the founding member firms. This council is responsible for providing strategic leadership and leads the implementation of the strategy and key deliverables.

The strategy is managed via committees comprised of employees from member firms. The committees focus on different dimensions of DEI by developing programs and initiatives consistent with the overall goals of the Diversity Project as agreed upon by the CEO Advisory Council.

Our Committees

Diversity Project volunteers are working toward the advancement and retention of diverse mid-level+ employees within the global asset management industry through a variety of workstreams:

• Benchmarking: identifying metrics and standards
  
• Education Engagement & Outreach: attracts diverse talent to the industry
• Fearless Leadership Symposium: drives content & speaker identification for annual event
• Industry Engagement & Events: shares findings, ideas and training to drive action and inclusive leadership
• "Next" Practices: shares forward-looking ideas to help firms build bold programs that advance equitable opportunity and support business results
  
• DEI Perception Study: explores insights on the perception of progress and presents actionable tips on how to advance DEI within organizations through the Project's DEI Survey and Study
